CNET NAMES ENVISION DISPLAY ONE OF TOP FIVE LCDS EN-5100E 15 LCD CITED FOR SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE AND ULTRA LOW PRICE

SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 2001 - CNET.com has named Envision Monitors EN-5100e 15 LCD model one of the top 5 products in the 15 LCD category. The rating is consistent with CNET users, 92% of whom give the monitor a virtual thumbs up.

This is the second win for Envision Monitors, whose EN-7100e LCD monitor was given Editors Choice Award by CNET.com last year.

The EN-5100e earned its highest marks in screen performance, beating all other monitors in the category. Judges noted the Envision monitor showed true screen geometry, well-balanced colors, and minimal screen-related distortions such as ghosting, streaking, and shadowing. The monitor was also singled out for its low price, superior performance, and sturdy construction.

This years award puts Envision Monitors in good company. Other winners include Compaq, NEC, Samsung, and ViewSonic. Ranking is based on over 20 criteria, from video bandwidth to power consumption. Judges also evaluate mundane characteristics like nuisance factor and text readability-critical in the consumer market. On all counts, the EN-5100e did better than average in its category, earning an overall rating of 8 out of 10.

The EN-5100es better-than-average performance and extremely low price make it a compelling value, states David English of CNET. It delivers surprisingly good performance and some midrange features to boot, meaning that even price-conscious consumers have another good choice for an LCD monitor.
